Catch up

Ok.. so I told you about Jan 1st (and probably had you slitting your wrists in the process)  But what's been happening from Jan 2 to today, Feb 24?  O. M. G. people!!  Lots!!  So much to talk about...... BUT I'm going to tell you about it........... on a new blog.

ha!  See how I did that?  Now you're interest is peaked.  :)

Yes that's right, since I can't keep up one blog, I thought, why not two???  The shame will be that much more rewarding.

And what pray, tell, is the purpose of this new blog?  Well it'll be keeping you abreast of the happenings at our other house.  The old house.  The first house.  Yup.  We still have the first one - never sold it, decided to rent in the interim, and once the last renters moved out last year we decided it was time to pay the piper. (in this scenario, the piper is the good people at Lowes and/or Home Depot)  The old bird was looking tired and needed some pampering.  So we've been back at it, DIYing our little hearts out.  And can I tell ya - ITS BEEN GREAT.  There's nothing like ripping down plaster and putting up drywall to ease your emotional wounds.  Trust me on this one.  Maybe this could be a new kind of therapy?  Home improvement therapy?  Hmm.  Maybe I should put a sign in the yard that reads "Dr. Wax, Counseling Services" and charge people to come in and do some manual labor.   This could be very good for us... very good indeed..... MWUAAAA HA HA!

Ok, but enough scheming.  So the blog is Bringing Back Belmonte.  I hope you enjoy it.

If you don't have anything nice to say...

I know its been a LONG time since I've updated everyone on what's going on around the house of Wax. And I'd love to be able to say "oh my gosh we've been SO BUSY doing house projects that I just can't keep up with the blog!! ha ha!!" But really its been quite the opposite. Aside from working our butts off at the day jobs (exhausting), I've been working on a humongous project at our church (taxing) and there's been a few medical mysteries we've been trying to uncover (emotionally stressful). I'm not quite sure if I'm ready to open up to the internets, but I can tell you that I am so over trying to hide it. So I guess this is the compromise. Just know that our life has been royally sucking - there is nothing left in the bank, financially or emotionally - and I just didn't think you'd want to hear about it so I copped out and wrote nothing for months. I am such a coward.

Wow such a bummer of a post today! Sorry bout that.

So 2010 did not live up to our expectations. At. all. So on New Years Eve we went next door to the neighbors house for a party and a bonfire. They asked everyone to write down everything about 2010 that we'd like to forget- to banish - to change in 2011. I proceeded to write a novella, Dave on the other hand just wrote one card that said "Every fucking bit of it" and I think that sums it up nicely. Maybe it was the champagne talking but we left feeling invigorated and excited about 2011. We're going to work hard at remembering the good things about this life, about the life we're creating together. And we're going to make this year great - even if we have to create our own damn miracles.
